What is read-it-later.com?
read-it-later.com is a service that helps you procrastinate, but not procrastinate too much.
If you are anything like us, you do a lot of online reading. Be it blog posts, news articles, HOWTOs, or documentation. You probably find several links per day that you know you want to read, or even know you should read, but you just don't have time right this second.
Instead of bookmarking the link into some sort of "TO BE READ" folder where it will never be seen or dealt with again, you can bookmark the link into read-it-later.com. The system will then spoon feed you any number of links, based upon categories you create, on whatever schedule you would like to receive them.
Example
Suppose you have a day job, work part time for a non-profit on Thursday evenings, and like to garden. You could setup your read-it-later.com account to:
- Send you one personal and two work related links via E-mail Monday through Friday mornings
- Receive two non-profit related links via a RSS feed on Wednesdays evenings
- Get three gardening and two more personal links via E-mail on Saturday mornings.
You determine everything about the links, categories, and what/when of your reading lists. The system even integrates easily with two of the most popular social bookmark services.
Comments or Suggestions?
We are constantly working to improve the service for our customers. If you have a comment, suggestion, rant, rave, or just want someone to talk to let us know what you're thinking!
